City of Glendale Celebrates Small Business

GLENDALE, CA— The City of Glendale will celebrate the immense value of its small business community from May 16 through May 18 with a series of events that provide critical information and resources to help small businesses to thrive and grow. Themed “Let’s Grow Glendale” the week of events includes:

  • May 16 Virtual Presentations by the Los Angeles Small Business Development Center/Small Business Association including: Uncovering Access to Capital for Growth and Sustainability at 10:00 a.m. and Get Certified as a Minority/Woman-Owned Biz and Take Over the World at 2:00 p.m. by the Pacific Asian Consortium in Employment (PACE)
  • May 16 Networking Event Connect and Conquer: Marketing Insights Networking Happy Hour- hosted by AB Media, held at 6:00 p.m.
  • May 17 Tech on Tap Presentation Tech Tools to Boost Your Biz Efficiency and Bottom Line at Paperback Brewery at 6:00 p.m.
  • May 18 Small Business Summit from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Embassy Suites

The first-ever Small Business Summit on May 18 is a half-day of content and inspiration presented by business leaders and government officials from the local, regional, state, and federal level. Featured speakers include: California State Treasurer Fiona Ma; SBA Regional Administrator Elmy Bermejo; and DISQO Co-Founder Drew Kutcharian, to name a few.

The Summit also includes a panel presentation on “Winning at Workforce: Building Your Dream Team in Glendale” with the Verdugo Workforce Board and California Employer’s Association as well as local business owners Petra Marin of Union Jack’s Tea and Gevik Baghdassarian of Massis Kabob who will share ideas on workforce challenges and solutions as well as the variety of capital, workforce training and development, as well as free human resources tools available to small business.

The May 18 event will also feature a one-on-one interview with Glendale based DISQO Co-Founder and CTO Drew Kutcharian who will share the ups and downs of starting and growing a business into a major technology leader.
