. 1 min read

Glendale, CA: Glendale Detectives conducted a grand theft investigation and arrested 32 year old Aram Minasyan and 46 year old Ashot Khachatryan on January 10, 2019.

On August 29, 2018, two males entered a jewelry store located in the City of Glendale and were looking at several different rings. After a short time, the males put the rings down and left the store. After the males exited, the employee realized a 2.2 carat diamond ring worth over $13,000.00 had been swapped for a fake cubic zirconia ring.

The following day on August 30th, a Sherman Oaks jewelry store reported a ring switch. The 2.2 carat diamond ring that was stolen from the Glendale store was swapped with a ring at the Sherman Oaks location.

On December 22, 2018, the Glendale Police Department conducted an investigation involving a grand theft of a diamond ring from a Glendale department store. Two male customers attempted to distract an employee while looking at a 2 carat diamond ring. The employee demanded the ring back and one of the males swapped the ring and both ran out of the store with the $40,000.00 2 carat ring.

Glendale detectives reviewed the video surveillance footage and identified two males involved in the investigation through department resources.

On January 10, 2019, a search warrant was obtained and Ashot Khachatryan and Aram Minasyan were taken into custody and booked for various offenses including identity theft.

The case remains under investigation by detectives.
