Glendale, CA: – On February 3, 2019 at approximately 6:26 pm, Glendale Officers responded to a robbery that just occurred at the intersection of Central Avenue and Wilson Avenue. The communications division provided a detailed description of the male suspect as the officers responded to the scene. When the officers arrived in the area, they located a male matching the description, identified as 25 year old Jon Swenson.
Investigation revealed, a 34 year old Glendale woman was walking home from work and talking on her cell phone when a male came up behind her and began pulling on her purse. The victim struggled to hold on to her purse, but eventually released her grip after the suspect struck her on the hand with his umbrella. The suspect fled on foot with her purse and he was located by officers at Pacific and Wilson.
Swenson was in possession of the victim’s debit card and her purse was recovered nearby on the sidewalk.
The victim positively identified Swenson as the suspect involved in the incident. He was taken into custody and booked for robbery.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
