Glendale, CA – Glendale Police Officers arrested 24 year old Giselle Gilberto and 22 year old Gabriele Resendez for residential burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
On Friday, January 25, 2019 at 12:45 pm, Glendale officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Grandview regarding a residential burglary that just occurred. While the officers were responding, the homeowner remained on the phone with the dispatchers and provided the license plate of a Dodge truck parked on her property. A records check revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Los Angeles.
Investigation revealed, the resident left her home to run errands and upon leaving, closed the driveway gate that restricts access to her property. When she arrived home approximately an hour later, she found the gate open and a black Dodge pick-up parked in her driveway. The resident approached the pick-up and saw there was a male in the passenger seat and a female carrying two luggage style bags near her home. The resident yelled for help and her father and a witness assisted with detaining the suspects. After realizing they possibly stumbled upon a burglary in progress, the homeowner’s father drove his vehicle up the driveway and blocked the suspects from reversing until the officers arrived moments later.
A search of the residence did not reveal entry was made into the home or personal items stolen.
Based on the investigation, Gilberto and Resendez were arrested for residential burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle.
It was discovered that evening the suspects were wanted for a robbery they committed in Los Angeles on the same date.
The Glendale and Los Angeles cases will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office by the Glendale Police Department Burglary Unit for filing consideration.
